People: Me myself & I
Duration: 5pm till 8.30pm
Tide: Last 3 and half hours of flood
Weather: No wind, started dry & then drizzle
Bait: Fresh lug & Frozen peeler
Rigs: 2 hook flapper
Results: 6 x Coalie 1 x Flounder
Arrived just as it was getting dark, and there was a lovely surf rolling in and no sign of any weed. Apart from the 7 fish I landed, I missed 1 rattle bite (Probably another flounder) and a good tug that was over as quick as it started. It certainly felt alot bigger than anything else I'd had last night, so I'm thinking a bass, but it was lightening quick so it's hard to tell. It was really mild (about 8 degrees) even my hands didn't get cold, so it was a really enjoyable session. All that was missing was the winter bass that I was hoping for. I'd never been to this beach before, and it's always nice to catch something on a 'blind' venue. That's me off the mark for 2013 too.

fair play great to fish a new beach even if ya cant see anything only what your headlight is shining on

fished a few mark,s up near killybegs in the dark i must get up and see what they look like in daylight some time

shame you didnt hook up a bass but 6 coalies is better than 66 whiting any day!!!

Stayed the night in Macroom so didn't have to trek all the way back to Dublin. I'm in west Cork once a month with work so I'll probably try this beach again.

No jobs going Roger, and it's not as great as it sounds. Still, there's a silver lining in every cloud I suppose.
