Me:
3pm-8:30pm:
high at 6pm:
ccccold, fairly calm, dry:
lug, mack, sandeel, squid, razor/b]:
[b]flappers, one up one down:
22 dogfish, 3 bull huss, 1 three bearded rockling:
Set off later than planned today, stopped off in A shore thing for sandeel and a chat...
then off I set to dig some lug, tide was half in already, so as I was digging, the holes were flooding, but still managed to get 20 or so fat fat worms, bit thick bratwursts!
I got down to Cross Strand, had figured the easterly wind would have it flat...was I wrong!!! crazy rip, 6ounce grip no match, but battled on for 2 hours, baits coming back untouched.. the sun had now left and with it any warmth from the day, so change of plan- hit lecanvey pier for some small things, anything, to avoid le blank..
got there just after 6pm, baits out......
and then it began... dogs.dogs. dogs. all sizes, from pups to big bruisers...
put a rod out onto the rocks near the stream, hoping to dodge past the dogs..managed to find a 3 bearded rockling.
then got a huge pull on the rod out front... my scratching rod..thought ' this is a big dog'.... turned out to be a huss! bout 4lb. after this more dogs, then a double of dog and another huss! couple more doubles of just dogs.. another smaller huss, then decided to feck off so I could go feed and drive the long drive home.
Blank saved, sometimes it pays to move!
