fished four beeches in total but success only came in the dark. baits been robbed by coleys in the mid 20s as soon as we cast in to the water, so atleast it wasnt going to be an east coast session. tried a cast out past the surf hoping to get away from the coley madness and after only a few mins had a couple of light knocks ,wasnt sure what it was so waited for another touch holding the rod and as soon as i felt a twitch a reflex strike , a few kicks back, fish on. after a few mins landed my first bass of the year 47cm ,no monster but i got what i came for ,off the mark in january

.couple more casts out far and nothin so tried one just out from the shoreline and a good take . fighting just like the bass but turned out to be a nice coley 43cm next cast both rods sent down along shore and another nice coley 39cm for myself. unlucky for nick as he couldnt get away from the smaller coley all evening.must have had thirty fish between us mostly small but was good to be kept busy things went alittle quiet after that so packed up as soon as a little light rain came
tried three beeches the next day in daylight but baits wernt touched ,weather was crappy so cut the trip short
