People: Myself
Duration: 2.5 hours (11:30-14:00)
Tide: High tide of 3.55m on 11:39 (according to Windfinder site)
Weather: Cloudy (phew no rain...)
Bait: Razor and Peeler Crab
Rigs: 2 hook flapper rig
Results:Flounder/Dab, Unknown & Unknown (maybe Whiting and Coalfish?)
First time fishing in Ireland (well i tried 2 weeks ago down in Kerry but didn't catch anything so we wont count that

) !
Went down to Monkstown and picked a quiet corner away from all the people on the wall...2 hook flapper rig with 90-110g breakaway lead...used mostly the razor as a bait with peeler crab as well...got 3 fish, 2 were small and were sent free (please help me figure out what specie are they - coalfish and whiting?), the flounder or dab did the journey home with me
I noticed that in the last hour of fishing my line was pulling strong to the right (i guess its the tide) but even a 110g breakaway lead didnt make a difference, what can i do in situations where the tide is pulling my line?
One more question...what would be the best times for fishing in Monkstown? i thought an hour before and after hugh tide consider to be the best times but on the way back to the car one of the anglers told me Monkstown is better in low tide?
cheers,
Omer
