Report:
Nothing spectacular but plenty of variety this evening. There was a bit of movement in the water with a gentle swell stirring things up a bit. As usual, I fished one rod at distance over sand and another close in over rougher ground. Last couple of times fishing here, I wasn't getting any bites at all at distance but surprisingly I got small coalfish (22-25cm) and pouting this time. The rough ground also produced coalfish, (they seemed to be everywhere and came in 1's and 2's all evening), pollack, a small codling (25cm) and a 5 beard rockling. A small flounder showed up and to further justify persisting with the long range rod, the best fish of the session turned out to be a nice dab at 32cm, not bad for the shore. The fish had been biting steadily from 5.30 when I arrived up to about 8.30 when the activity quickly faded away; so I did likewise. Like I said at the start, nothing spectacular but a busy session. Not a whiting to be seen, they should be here shortly.
