Report:
Decided to give Waterfoot beach a shot as i'd heard it had fished well as a match venue last weekend. Arrived at 7 o'clock and baited up a pulley rig and a clipped down flapper rig. Whilst I was chatting to another angler my flapper rig give some sharp tugs and I reeled in a reasonably plump flounder

This unfortunately was to be the highlight of the evening. As the beach had slowed in bites (crabs were playing a blinder) and the tide was filling right up to the dunes we decamped and headed for the trusty pier where surprise surprise there was absolutely noone there

We set up as per usual and watched what looked like Cushendall staging a surprise artillery attack on Waterfoot. (where do people get all these fireworks

) We then commenced battle as our evening turned into a 'b movie' called "Attack of the Pin Whiting)

Every bait we put in was taken by whiting, I was even live baiting them and getting more. Couldnt count the numbers, it was a massacre

How does a fish that small get a 4/0 hook in its mouth

By midnight we had not a pick of bait left and retreated to he comparitive safety of McDonalds in Ballymena

I got some curious looks, presumably folks trying to guess what I was dressed up as. Bob the builder perhaps or a cast member from Wicked Tuna (I was wearing a pair of Red Dungarees from the Flotation suit

)
Anyway, not a bad evening. Didn't blank and I survived the battle of Waterfoot
