Report: As we had a big tide and free time on Tuesday, we set off for a favourite bass mark. This mark tends only to fish well an hour before and an hour after high water on a spring (or a day or two either side). We picked up some feisty live peelers from Paul at the well stocked 'East Cork bait and tackle' shop in Cloyne and headed off. Lucky13 baited up with crab and landed his cast into the sweet spot. Within 15 minutes he got a thump and struck. 10 minutes later, a lovely bass broke the surface. He was landed and weighed in just shy of 6 pounds. About an hour later, another huge thump signalled another fine bass for lucky13, this one tipping the scales at around the 5 and 1/2 pound mark, his luck was in ! With hope and daylight fading, and the ebb draining the mark, I got a nice thump. As the bite developed I knew I was into a nice bass. Despite its best efforts, the Bass was brought ashore and completed a good session with a weight of almost exactly 6 pounds. A nice session to end a prolonged Bass drought.
