South Wexford

A trip to south Wexford was both enjoyable and informative, firstly it was great to see two young lads catching fish (albeit small ones), and secondly why we should consider, as per a thread elsewhere on this site, the ramifications posed by a recent protest on discards at sea.

Juvenile codling, coalfish, dab, and flounder abounded, in what could be viewed as a positive sign for the future, and the chaps had fun.

Surprise surprise, I am a glass half full bloke, but juvenile everything including mackerel landed by a local fisherman highlights where we are at, the big mamma's don't get a chance to grow big!! Beam trawling and the fish that I landed yesterday evening do not mix, we need to re-appraise.
