Fished a rock mark last night and lost a good fish estimated at around 7lbs

, so headed back this evening to the same spot.Walking down the beach decided to have a few casts but nothing was interested. As soon as I arrived at the spot where I dropped the fish last night

I turned and looked back up the beach where I could see about thirty birds working in close.Legged it back up the beach and first cast got hit hard and a fter a couple of very strong runs landed this billy of 6.25lbs.

A few casts later in the same spot , got hit hard in close, saw the fish which was bigger than the first , I reckon about 8lbs absolutely snorted the lure down

, but before I could put some pressure on it swam around a boulder in close... result line snap and Billy swims away with my lure.. after a few choice words and new clip and lure I was about to cast when at the waters edge here was said bass in about two foot of water , eight to ten feet out with my lure still in its mouth. I cast again just beyond where the bass was and amazingly saw it turn and attempt to to take the lure with one already in its mouth, I swear you couldnt make it up, reckon its still out there even though I tried for another ten minutes with no success.
Moved up the mark as dusk approached, had two schoolies and then the macks and pollock arrived, had a couple of macks, more lost, and on the last cast had a pollock of 2lbs.
