People :Me, Keelan & Leon
Duration[/b ] : 2hours
Tide: Dropping
Weather: Brilliant sunshine with fresh S wind
Bait Lugworm

Results : bass & /flounder

Results(b) . It was a family day at the beach with the brilliant sunshine. I suggested a little cove near Dungarvan where my own 2 boys had caught good flounder 15 years ago. The idea was to give the lads a chance of something in less than favourable conditions and at the same time let the non-fishing people chill.
Leon’s first cast had only hit the water when the telltale taps of a flattie started. It took a bit of persuasion to convince him to leave it. Suddenly there was a bang on the rod and Leon sprung into action. It was a double hook-up of a bass and a flounder.
Keelan’s rod then started and he wound in another beautiful flounder. In 4 casts the lads had 4 flounders and a bass. The smallest flounder was 38cm and the biggest 40cm.

Then the tide started to drop and fishing became difficult. We spent the next hour pulling weed in before giving up.
The rods are packed and ready for more action tonight.
