Artificial reefs

i was at a meeting of the ifsa about 20 years ago when it was proposed- i think by norman dunlop- that artificial reefs could be constructed out of old car tyres thereby solving three problems at once fish would have a place to hang out and safe haven from trawlers AND we woulg get rid of all the tyres which are a devil to dispose of.

you,re right on all counts Ray Norman Dunlop did put that proposal forward. He even designated belfast lough for a trial site. But it never got past the planning stage.
