good returns of cod are showing up on east cork beaches. fished ballybrannigan last sunday night in terrible weather landed 8 cod biggest 51cm with a majority in the 41-45cm size. dropped an other few in the surf. used crab and lug on a single hook rig.
fished garryvoe last night (tue) in calm conditions had 7 cod 1 dog and 1 flounder all taken on crab. average size of about 40cm. as long as the rain keeps falling the cod seem to be staying out of the rivers.
