hope it is not true other wise you wont get moveing down there for weeks.and the inshore trawler will be on the beach again now that the word is out.there is a guy from greencastle in a red trawler towing the beaches regular especially after some good fish have been taken so my guess is he reads the internet to get his info.

Ragworm. The mate rang me at 12.30 that night to tell us, he had been fishing beside the bloke that landed it. The same guy had already landed a 6 pounder.

Like big phil says i hope they might turn up on sat for the all ireland open , its great to hear about fish like this off such a shallow type beach, last year there was a young lad pegged not far for me in a comp who took an 11lb turbot with a crackin flounder on the same pull. On the down side as beachcaster says, lets hope that any rogue inshore trawlers and drift netters can be reported immediatley to the fisheries protection people. well done the angler that caught the fish

Benone always produces the bigger bass in that area. But people seem to put in more time fishing for bass at Downhill, espcially at the entrance.. :?
It has produced bass bigger than 16lb, but unlike the guy who caught the 16 pounder they weren't advertised in the local rag!
I know off one guy who caught a 19lb+ bass from benone up next the red marker and it was returned ALIVE!
