Report: Headed out to see can I get my dublin hound AGAIN! this being the 10th try in a few weeks.
Got down to my crab collecting place and my god the place was walking with them. Big softys and peelers. After collecting what we needed we tryed for some lug and came up empty handed, only small lug.
So at around 10 in the eve we arrived at the light house ( went there because the girls like it ) and started fishing, but one of the lads lost a rig on every cast.
After being there for about 40 mins and 1 lad with no gear left we headed to half moon, but on the way the place was walking with midgys, no wind and really warm they were out in force. Any bear skin had a layer of flys covering...
We arrived at half moon and the wall were walking with the midgys so we walked on abit to find a breeze to blow them away. Finaly started fishing and there was no rest.
Every time the bait hit the water it was getting hit but no takes.. Time went on with them teasing us.
At 1:21 am it was just about high tide and I was planning to leave at 2 the rod began to do a little dance, so I left it thinking what ever it was would be small because of the little bites. But then the but of the rod shot up into the air and only for I was standing beside it waiting I could have lost it. I struck into it and WOW was it on.
This fish was not giving up easy, wizzing back and forth stopping me reeling in, it was the BEST fight I have got from a fish EVER!!!!!!
After I landed it, with the arms aching I tryed weighing it but the scales had seezed up. And I forgot I have a measure in my box so I cant give you a weight or size but I assume its around 6lbs.
Same fish in both pics, I,m the bottom one.
