People: Just meself
Duration: 4hrs on Sat afternoon, 1 hr at Fenit on Sunday
Tide: From high water down
Weather: Calm saturday, breezy SW on Sunday
Bait: Artificials - jelly worms for most part
Results: Lots of pollack, best to 10lb
Report: Fished a favourite rock mark of mine near Ventry on Saturday (and an hour spinning/feathering from Fenit on Sunday - no Mackerl in sight, only saw 1 or 2 come to a others and as usual the place was full of people feathering, no luck though). Ventry on saturday was, as usual, pretty amazing. Have fished the same mark for 10 years now, this weekend being my first trip there this year. Several small (1-2lb) pollack coming to spinners, feathers etc as you'd expect - but jelly eels on flowing traces won out as the always do for me down there. Redish/green worms doing best... meant to collect a few small hardback crab for the wrasse but missed the low tide as the same mark usually produces thumpers of wrasse... next time maybe. Pollack below was the best of many, close to or around 8-10lb i'd guess. Light spinning gear, 10lb line and a decent drag put through its paces! Average size 11 shoe included for scale
Cheers -
John
