Report: Had planned to hit wicklow pier to try target a few new species, unfortunately the swell and massive amounts of fresh water coming down the river put and end to that. After Sweetwrasee managed a double of a small Corkwing and a Tompot Blenny right beside the pier wall a change in tactics was in need and the 5lb braid and size 4 hooks came out. We were getting plenty of bites but these mini species have a serious knack of managing to strip the bait from the hook in seconds. Eventually we got the fishing dialled in and were able to hook a few more fish Even managed to catch the same Blenny twice!!

so just shows you how hardy they are. Wasn't pure LRF fishing as we were using bait

but the conditions called for it its very enjoyable catching some mini species on a rod only rated for a couple of grams. From what looked like a fairly tricky session was pretty good to manage to winkle a few fish out.
