Flounder on the Float

Sometimes it's great to be shown what angling is really about, just plain having fun. Seeking mullet in a local harbour I met a couple of anglers with similar intentions. When they didn't show the boys having brought some earthworms as well started float fishing for flounder. Believe me on a coarse float fishing set up they really can fight, http://bit.ly/Kn0Qm2.

it is surprising just how much difference there is in the fight of a fish that doesnt have a 2+ ounce lead hanging off it.

thats why i prefer to do my float fishing with coarse rods and floats weighted for 5 grams.

wait till you get a nice fat mackerel or a wrasse on that gear....fun times

Had a pile of 6" flounder on the float off Waterfoot Pier last Autumn.

Good craic and nice not to have to dig the hook out from down deep!
