People: me

Duration:4h

Tide: up

Weather: lovely

Bait: lures

Rigs:

Results:
3 mackerel, 2 pollock, 4 coalies and 1 strange thing.

Report:
was allowed out on monday after doing the garden on sunday and headed to a mark close to home i knew i could get on. Very slow fishing with switching from foat to lures to see what was about.
First fish was a pollock about 3.5lb and followed with a coalie about same size and then quiet again for an hour until a mackeral, then another two and then dead again, so tried float with markerel hitting another pollock and three coalies.
I caught this strange fellow also. anyone know what it is?

I think it might be the 15 spined sea stickleback, Spinachius spinachius. I assume it was foul hooked or embedded in a tangle of weed? I would be surprised if its mouth would be big enough to take in a hook!

good to hear your well on the road to recovery nicki 8)
that sure is one odd looking wee critter alright  . i'll have a nosey through our refrence books after the weekend and get back to ya on that one man.
i know how you feel with the marks man. myself and dawsey went to an out of the way rock mark that throws up nice pollock on the co down coast last week. but we were only fishing an hour or so when a few chinese lads turned up and killed everything they caught
it's getting harder and harder to keep marks under wraps to prevent them getting hammered. so much so that i'm hardly reporting or inviting lads out these days :( bit of a shame.

I tried a secret mark with Charlotte a few weeks back and had 12 ray and a dog with Charlotte getting two ray and two dogs. Didn't put it up Incase someone looked at the pictures and new it and passed it on.
I would of loved to have bragged about it. Even my local rock mark has line, packets and s*** everywhere telling me it's fished to death also

nicki mate even tho id luv to no the secret mark that u and charlotte were fishing i think, ur just rite to keep ur mark secret because im the same my local marks or getting over fished and litter being left every were thats why ive been travilling futher a feild fishing. i dont mind the travelling but its the fact that some people have total disregaurd of the next angler that has to come and look at the mess theve left.

even take photos of the fish close up on a matt nicki this way they wont even see the backround.

im off to swilly this week so i hope to get some nice ray
