Downhill Strand 26th May 2012

Mon May 28, 2012 8:41 pm

People: Myself and Nial K

Duration: 10pm 'til 1am

Tide: Rising to full

Weather: Fine, dry but a little breezy

Bait: Rag, mackeral, squid and sandeel

Rigs: One & two boom paternoster, Pullys

Results: Blankety blank

Report:
Went out on Saturday evening full of hope with a rising sea temperature and a nice easterly breeze chopping the surf up. What a disappointment it was  Not a darn bite all night, baits were being reeled in untouched even by crabs.

We varied baits, rigs, hook sizes and casting distance. Anglers came down from Benone and Castlerock with the same story.

Bit of a bummer all told, good job i'm not needing them for the dinner

Hang on in there. They are about all right. as the old saying goes...hang a bollock out in the breeze and see what way the knob turns...that saying has served me well for years.

the bass fishing on the north coast can be patchy at the best of times as you know man.
so fair play for sticking at it. i don't reckon i'd have the patients for it myself.
