People:Myself and Anna
Duration:2pm-8pm
Tide:Filling
Weather:Mild and calm
Bait:Rag, mackeral,sandeel and frozen crab
Rigs:Pulleys
Results:Coalie,pollack,red cod, whiting,3 beard rockling,scorpion fish. Anna 21 me 19.
Report:After studying the tide table while on my lunch break on friday I decided that conditions would be ideal for a run out on saturday to a rock mark that tends to be a bit of a tackle graveyard. However the small tides would mean there wouldnt be too much of a run and not as much lost gear.
After work I tied a dozen basic pulleys, four conger rigs and chopped down a few old match rigs with the notion that I wouldnt be bringing many of them home!
On saturday the weather was superb and as we were setting up it was more like july than march.
The first two hours were very slow with only a couple of rattles and no hook ups and i kept reminding myself that it is march after all. However two hours before the top of the tide just as it was getting dusk all hell broke lose. Every cast resulted in coalie, pollack or whiting and anna was catching as many as me fishing one rod at 10 yards as opposed to two out. Added to which she was picking up some nice three beard rockling and a lovely wee sea scorpion. As darkness came i also pulled two nice wee red cod on the frozen peeler.
Dissappointingly we didnt get a single run on the conger gear though on a plus side we only lost about three rigs and half a dozen leads.

Nice one

Great to see so many fish caught up this part of the world. I've lost so much tackle this last few weeks i'm steering clear of rough ground for a while. Thats a good piece of knowledge shared about the weak tides on tackle graveyards, thanks for that.
Keep 'er lit!
