Report:
Just a quick one this morning I'm afraid, Arrived down on the Dee last night to find one guy already fishing, he was only setting up his second rod so I guessed he'd probably not been there too long. I got my rods in and within about 5 minutes my first fish of the session was on the pier, a small whiting but good to break the duck. Also had a 20cm Coaly during the hours of daylight which I'm putting down to the slightly dirtier water.
Gabbey arrived down just after and just in time for the fishing to heat up. Most casts for the night were producing a ravenous run of pirhana like pouting. But there was also the odd Pollack, Coalfish, and Shorey about with a bonus flounder for me.
Meanwhile on the rod I had over the back, I had a terrific bite, the rod went over serveral times and I hit it, initially there was good weight, but after about 20 yards became much lighter and I had lost whatever I'd hooked, got the drop down Pulley in to find that the 40lb snood had been bitten off. Gutted.
But all in all a good wee night, and throughout the course of the night we got chatting to the other Angler, who'd also had some sucess, good to meet you John man, hope to see you down there again.
