Well myself and ferg decided last minute to have a cast so hit one of the local beaches just as the sun was setting and the tide dropping . After having blanked numerous times despite lee and Nicks best efforts I was starting to lose all hope . Anyway I started with two big baits and fished one close and one at distance whilst ferg fished small baits in close resulting in a small whiting first cast on lug. Shortly after my rod started to show tell tale signs of weed and snap ,rig gone. It turned out to be a blessing as after i swapped to a two hook flapper baitedwith lug i got a bite after five minutes which turned out to be my first flounder . Fergal continued on taking small whiting and coalies as well as sandeel and flounder whilst I went back to bigger baits in search of Bass and dogs but wasnt too be . We packed in just after ten as the cold was starting to creep in . Happy out not having another blank to my name..

the snap off probably saved your blank, if you did not snap off you might have fished all your baits out far,,,, nice going lads,,,,,,

Cheers lads , id be happy with anything at this stage Seamus hopefully someday Ill hook up with a bass of similar size to your clare catch .

as i said congrats on the new species 
there will be plenty more to come this year!blanking is out of the way now!we,ll get another session sorted out soon(good omens)after the bass now
