Well it was another trip to Old Faithful Greystones, I decided to take the kids with me this time, though they didn’t fish they were having to much fun chasing each other on the pier, Met up with Jayball and his mate Fran pleasure meeting you lads! Originalsin was there as well doing his best to calm a HUGE edible crab he just landed.
As time dragged slowly on during the day and nothing being caught apart for the crab, I was looking forward to the evening.. The Mrs picked up the kids which allowed me to fish seriously now.. no sooner were the kids picked up, the entire gang arrived, swarmed would be a good word for it.. Sparkey+1, Tightlines and his Bro, two lads from the Howth Angling Club, and last but nowhere near last was THE DODGER!!
Even 2 Russian fellas arrived… (more later there)
I would comfortable say it was all these people that arrived that triggered the fish onto the fed! No sooner were lines set and placed out then the coalies arrived, Pouting, Shore Rockling, 5 Bread rockling, Scorpion fish, Dogfish, Pollock, but I’m not jokin with the wind that night it was BITTER!!
It was like someone rang a dinner bell, at one stage I looked around and most of us hooked into something if it wasn’t a fish, it was weed, or a crab. But be warned theres a new snag at the mouth of the harbour, ¼ the way in a rope was pulled in a forthnight again so I was informed and damn if you cant get away from it!
The Russian lads remember them, I have no problem with man taken fish, HOWEVER when the bait is BIGGER then the fish ?!?! They kept the smallest pollock I've seen this year couldn't have been more then 6cm! and a shore rockling
Now I love me fish, but damn i would have found it hard to get a meal out of that one!!
Anyways I think we got the point across when they seen us throwing are fish back after a quick photo!

one of them kept looking at us in shock as we let decent coalies go back over the wall! hehehe
All in all the crack was brilliant on the pier despite the cold, all that really was missin was a few beers and some nice warm weather!! Now for the Photos…
