Talk about last minute dot com.
I got a phone call from Martin at 17.45 asking what I was upto? Told him no plans,( Martin) do you want to go fishing? ( me ) ok, so mad rush to the house and get some squid and prawns out of the deep freeze to try and thaw it out.
Martin arrived and off we set to the supermarket to try and get some mackeral, none left so ended up buying a bag of mussels to try them.
Arrived at the beach and it would have blown the head of you, so we got the rods out and our mish mashed bait and started to set up.
By this time the tide was approaching full low but we thought we would give it a go anyway.
2 of the rods were kept low out of the wind and 2 kept a bit higher but to no avail, they still jumped and rattled about in the wind.
Then the showers started with some of them pretty heavy, we fished until midnight but not even as much as a nibble on the bait so decided to call it a night.
Not the best nights fishing but was still nice to get out and some fresh air into our lungs, hopefully heading out again next week, might move location just to give it a try

the rock marks are def fishing alot better along the north coast at the min. anywhere from portrush to ballycastle are stuffed with coalies at the min though but they keep the rods bouncing.

would stay clear from there for a month or so.
Try some deeper water marks and fish in the dark. Blue pools is good, Portrush harbour back wall is where i fish at this time of year but you have weed to 30 yards to get over.

Haven't fished the back wall of the harbour in years, any time i did fish there i always drew a blank apart from loads of sea weed.
Have considered the blue pool or around there, might give it a go soon.
