Report:
well the time was here after 2 weeks of planning we all hit the road from different dirctions and meet up just before waterford and from there the covoy of cars headed for quick refuleing stop just after dungarvan with everyone and cars juiced up the next stop was youghal bridge to meet buoy32 to pick up some fresh crab (thanks john) after talking to john for a few mins we hit ferrypoint for the last couple of hours of the drop fishing here was slow with james geting a nice coalie on his second cast and only a few bites between the rest of us until bren(canning) picked up a nice 3 b rockling on his last cast so a trip across the water was in order to fish the rise is youghal
fishing here was also very slow with noting showing for the first couple of hours of the rise until bren pulled in a small codling followed by 1 nearer the 2lb mark after that he had a steady run fish for the night with the rest of us picking up a few hear and there and some others blanking (wont mention any names ) as h.w came near myself and the brother pack away as the weather got the better of us but i should say it was not 2bad until about 9pm when all hell let loose driving rain and heavy gales so we left the rest of the boys to it but dont know if they stayed much longer or got anymore fish
overall it was good to be out with the lads and had some great banter plus i opened the acount for 2012 with a few codling

Good report Alan

We where packing up as you where leaving so I would say we left by 12ish..... Creep was following orignalsin on the way home..... Didnt trust the Sat nav...... Good day and plenty of crack was had by all even if i broke the flask.... So hard night fishing in the storm force winds with tripods crashing down all around me.... Some rain and wind couldnt see you down atthe end of the pier at one stage.... Glad we left when we did as the old back was really acting up and thanks to creep he avoided most of the holes in the road ( except at ferrypoint on the way out to the harbor ) to make the journey home a bit more bearable.

Here to the next one ASAP

Oh yea mate thanks for the warming chillie..... hit the spot just before the heavens opened....

Dave

nice one Tightlines!!

Couple of things to mention was a BIG BIG shout out to PatK from the site was a pleasure meeting you!!!
Also a Big SHOUT to Alan our weight man in Youghal for coming down and meeting us with fresh weights and live peelers again Thank you! Also for putting me wide to a nice few marks ;) will deffo try them in the next while, when my Mrs lets me out again!
Big Shout To Tighlines for making enough Chilli to feed an army!!
Hope you all enjoyed the Christmas Cake!!
Orginalsin for making Killer Coffee!!

Grady is now my competition for hauling in the largest amount of seaweed to be hauled in by rod!!! (took 3 of us to pull it up the wall!!!) Well done Grady!!It had traces weights and everything in it, Interesting note for anyone heading there is (Yes I blanked again in youghal  BUT I will have my revenge in Youghal one day!!) where the fish were being caught last night were up at the top and bottom of the pier, 1/4 up Sparkey, Myself, and Grady kept getting snagged on what seemed to be a tackle graveyard  I lost 4 traces there with shock leader gone and all.

The weather was beautiful on FerryPoint and it was looking as if it was going to hold out, even when we hit the pier it wasnt bad, a little wind but nothing more, but then as tighlines said It was like someone hit a switch and "BANG" the storm was here!! Brilliant way of testing out the gear!!! (and washing it as well!!) My flotation suite held up well until the last hour and i could feel the rain getting through, were as the lads in the waders were bone dry ;)
Its always a pleasure no matter what the weather to fish with this crew, the Crack and laughs are always worth the trips!!
Chris we really need to sort out your bladder :D :D

forgot to mention a thanks to Sparkey who tried to help save my rods from a nasty fall, sadly I busted two eyes on both rods when the tripod tried to take flight for the fourth time  I thinks a trip down to Henrys is order to get them sorted again, but thats fishin for ya!

6 teaspoons, or there abouts, of coffee granules is the key..... not good for the ol' stomach tho

Which is exactly why i moved the first chance i got, and also why i told you you should also move...

Has to be said also that of all the fish being caught, it was the same areas from last time that fished the best, tightlines was positioned where i had been and Bren was where tightlines was last time around..... maybe next time we go down Creep should take one of these hotspots so that he might actually catch a cod.....

Oh, and +1 to Tightlines for the chilli :D

Yea saw Alan sprint for that position Will have to head to that part of the pier where I was last time down so I dont get any more snags or tangles.....

Kev have a word with the misses and get the browney points up and think you owe Bren a HUGH thanks Mate...

It was Hard going that night when the storm kicked up, hence no pictuers after the rain :( couldnt get the camera to focus on anything, and the hands were to wet to change the little button from auto focus to manual.. (NOTE TO CAMERA MAKERS: Please make a cheap powerful Camera designed for fishermen/women, 10mps min. large buttons decent viewing screen AND WATERPROOF!!)

OH Orginalsin, caught the smallest Silver Bar I had ever seen (In a around about way, the cod he caught had it in its stomach!!) so Originalsin you can add that to your list  showem the piccie!!
