People:Myself , and three amigos
Duration:4.30pm to 11:30pm
Tide:full at 8pm few days after a spring tide
Weather:cold but clear
Bait:lug peeler mussel sandal squid mackerel
Rigs:2 hook paternoster
Results:mixed bag
Headed for Youghal on Wednesday with intentions of arriving around 2.30pm
With high tide at 8 and with enough time To have a look
About in daylight but the best laid plans etc and we arrived about 4.30 just as darkness fell
Although the forecast was for gale force sw s winds and some heavy showers which we experienced on the way down we got out of the jeep at Youghal strand to find a slight breeze and a nice dry evening so
We quickly tackled up and fired out two hook paternoster with 6oz grips baited with a selection
Of lug crab squid mussel sandeel
And mackerel only first cast I was soon into a lovely flounder followed by another few flounder and a coalie And the other three lads had action for most of the time with flounder and coalies making up most of the catch and about two hours on the dropping tide one codlling came on a peeler . It was great to be back beackcasting as it must be 10 years since of done. It although Ive still been pursuing my other angling interest in coarse and pike. At least the quest and the long haul for those cork cod was worth it although with the amount of good marks in the area I'm sure we will do better the more we get to know the area
Thanks to the lads on here who gave advice to make this possible

Very good and so witty mate, on the other hand he might well have go a few boot lace conger.
Please don't pay us any heed and thanks for a great report, you never know you might give the course a miss more often and go back to the sea angling mate.
Regards Wez
