Report:
Last chance to get out in 2011. Arrived at my first choice mark just in time to hear the weather forecast predicting gale force winds with heavy rain, the surf already looked a bit messy and the wind was quite strong so I headed off to an alternative mark which offered a bit of shelter and more favourable wind direction. However I've had limited success from this spot in the past but at least I would get fishing. Nothing for the first half hour and then two flounder on successive casts, one close in (28cm) and the other (36cm) further out. Mackerel seemed to be the bait of the day. A third flounder (31cm) followed by 2 small coalfish and it was time to leave just as darkness was approaching. I was sorry to be leaving but sometimes you just have to socialise... Overall, a pleasant end to 2011 with 3 plump flounder from one of my less favoured venues This was my 99th fishing trip in 2011 (not all sea) so guess what one target for next year is? Tightlines to all in 2012, JW.
