What a difference a day makes, Down Beach Fishing 27/12/11

Tue Dec 27, 2011 11:48 pm

People: Bingham for a bit, Dan and Drew

Duration: Erm 6.30pm - 9.30pm

Tide: Low

Weather: Blowing

Bait: Lug, Mackeral, Peeler and Black Lug

Rigs: Beach stuff

Results:

1 Flounder, 1 Codling, 1 Dogfish, 2 5 Bearded Rockling, Load of Whiting

Report:

Absolutely busting to get back to the same venue as last night, and surprisingly enough Dan didn't take much persuasion either, so after diving out of work an hour early and grabbing dinner, I grabbed Dan and made plans to meet Bingham on the beach.

In honesty conditions seemed favourable, and within half an hour Dan had yoinked out a Doggy and a Codling, along with all 3 of a us hammering the Whiting, I thought sure we were onto a good one, but with the beginnings of the push of the tide it slackened right off...

Bingham had to go, but it didn't look like he was gonna miss much, however half an hour later Dan had managed a respectable flounder, the fishing picked up with the return of the Whiting, along with a couple of 5 Beards. However with the tide now sending us back up the beach at walking speed, it was decided to call it quits.

Not a bad session, though not a patch on yesterday... 8)

Good to see a quality angler coming from the low country. Dan is really locked onto the sizable fish. Have to 'forget' to pick him up on the next comp!
