Report:Headed out last minute after the Missus got me 20 lug

,,,,,,,,must have been the payback for all the Christmas shopping trips i've been dragged out on recently

. I headed to Greystones Harbour to find only one other angler there. He was lure fishing, small ragworm-like jellyworms, and getting great sport out of it. I couldnt believe how light his rod was

,I promised myself i'd go light with one rod the next time. I set up and got a couple of pollock, small enough with the biggest around 35cms,all going for mack and squid and ignoring the lug/squid mix. Some other lads arrived and set up and soon the little fishing area was full up, it doesnt accommodate many anglers

. The fish were few and far between but you cant complain on such a mild December night. Met Tony(tofish) off the site and had a bit of a chat. The fishing died off when it passed high tide and I packed up. Happy Christmas to all the fisherfolks out there, and especially those i've had the pleasure of fishing with and learning from. Nollaig Shona Daoibh go leir!,
