Report:
Was fed up not being able to fish because of work and weather so i dicided i would brave the cold wind and rain and get out.
Took the big guns with me for big baits and first cast was a flattie? never mind it was a fish then good bang from a dog so i thought happy days i could be happy with a few dogs to brush the cob webs away, then the skittery bites from whitting and with 3/0s on i didnt think i was get any unless i down sized until a good knock and when i got i up it turned out to be a big whitting with my whole crab down its mouth but was able to get it out and return back for another day.
Next was a good solid bite at distance and then a big slack liner, so i tightened up and hit it and it felt like a snag until it dicided to take off. was a few minutes to get it in but even with my wr300 could only get it to the water line and even then i couldnt see what it was, and all the time it wanted to run. I put the rod down and walked down my shockleader to drag it up to find a bloody big conger looking at me with my whole crab and mackerel bait hanging off its top lip.
very happy and very lucky to get it in over the weed and at that distance and also very happy it didnt swollow it or it would have bitten through the trace.
Had a few more cast before the hail came, and couldnt even look up at the rod
also lost a few rigs, not on the weed but there must be alot of old line about and after the weather has been washed alogether and in towards the rocks.
Great few hours and cant wait to get back out
