Waterfoot Beach 07/12/11

Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:45 pm

People: Bingham and I

Duration: 6.30pm - 10pm

Tide: Pushing

Weather: 3'c, Couple of squals, generally nice.

Bait: Rag n Mackeral

Rigs: 2up1down, Loops, Pen.Pul

Results:

Flounders, Coalfish, Whiting

Report:

A typical trip up the coast really, stopped at the Galley in Carnlough on the way up, one hell of a chippy, Chicken fillet burger with bacon n cheese, yes please.

Fished one Rod at distance and one in the suds, but it didn't seem to matter, the plague of Flounders seemed to be everywhere, doubles and trebles every cast made for some fun fishing.

Tried for Codling at distance with big Rag and Mack baits, but all I was getting was Foul hooked Flounders.

A few whiting and a single solitary coalfish added the "variety" for the night, and before we knew it was time to back up...

Busy wee night, pity there was nothing big...

Plenty of small stuff beats the blank! As for recommending "pit stops", good idea; the beginnings of a new thread perhaps? But bring your rubbish home or to a bin!

i thought you 2 were gonna get frozen and blown up the beach :!:
that's one of the advantages fishing the shores of the glens of antrim. no matter how bad the weather gets, theres always a bay to tuck into to find shelter :P

Drew,

You should have a taken a fly rod to try for the flounder. With a tail wind like we've had recently you'd have been hitting Scotland!

Drew I saw your lights that night as I drove round the road, braver man than me, I dunno whats wrong with me this year, the thought of going out in those conditions gives me the fear!

It is particularly baltic tonight, no doubt you are on a pier or beach right now lovin it. If you are, tight lines.
