Report:Have'nt made a report in yonks and have'nt been fishing in nearly as long

Finally had enough of cyber fishing so dedusted the floatation suit

gathered my bits and bobs and was off.Hit Eochaill with high hopes of a few fish given the recent reports, well how wrong was i.Thought i was been smart by setting up my igloo shelter[rain iminent],1st time this year so very rusty, ages later it was up and 3 sprints down the beach to catch it before it hit the water

.Just in time too as the heavens opened but i was chuffed to bits to be nice and snug and DRY.I don't use shelters very often but my god they are brillant once set up.
Anyways set the rods with 3/0 pulleys and fresh crab and away we went ,i even remembered how to get a half decent cast

.A few minutes later a nice 44cm codling was by my side.On closer examination the fish had a big ulcer on its tummy so i released the fish. Was even happier when i reeled in the next cast with a 41cm codling dangling on the end, released this one as well as i felt surely the biggies would turn up later in the tide .Boy how wrong was i,not a single other bite never mind a few fish of any kind. The weed became very heavy and i stopped using the second rod,got very dejected at this stage as every bait was been stripped by crabs which was'nt a good sign, but on a happy note i was proud as punch in my shelter as the rain and wind continued to dominate the evening.
Started to get paranoid watching a trawler not too far away ,surely it could'nt have taken all the fish or could it,well thats my excuse and im sticking to it

Just as i was packing up a few other hardy souls arrived. My few earlier fish convinced them to stay,im sure they must have been cursing me as an hour later they only had 1 keeper and the weed became horrendous by the looks of it.Must say i enjoyed the chat and cheers for the sweeties they were yummy.
In conclusion poor result but overall delighted to be back in the swing of things and who knows i may even get a proper camera from santa and start to throw up a few piccies of the few fish i may catch in the coming months if im lucky enough on the fish and santa front.Although knowing my luck i fancy the chances of santa calling better than catching a few fish
