Had two weeks off work so decided to head down to the Dingle Peninsula for a few days fishin’ from 19 to 22 October.
On Thursday the 20th I decided to head out towards Dunquin. Fished into low water with mac strips and lures. I managed two five bearded rockling, a hape of doggies and a nice sized bull huss.
On Friday headed out towards Brandon. The high wind was blowin’ seawards. Fished off a pier along here. Doggies and a 3lb bass for my efforts, before upping my rod and rest before I was blown over.
Saturday I moved onto the areas around Ballydavid, Feohanagh and Murreagh. Some great rocky areas here. The weather was exceptionally calm and had a good haul of doggies, pollack, bass and a specimen sized three bearded rockling.
Then on Friday 28 October, I decided to try a one day assault in Wexford. Ended up on a pier. Fished into low water, and blanked for my five hour efforts.
All in all a good break with some good fish to show for it.
