Kerry holiday report

Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:39 pm

Just got back from 2 weeks in Portmagee and would like to say thanks for all the help I received, special mention to Steve whose info was fantastic.

The weather was changeable which resulted in us being unable to access some of our preferred marks, however, we caught bass, huss, flounder, dogs, wrasse, mullet, mackeral, pollack and coalies, plus some mini species. Admittedly, the fishing was not as good as Dingle last year, but, we still had a great time

Best venue for the kids was Reenard pier, there was loads of mackeral around which were good fun on the float and after dark the huss came on the feed.

The main highlight of the holiday were a days fishing with John Quinlan, he was a superb guide and would thoroughly recommend him. A true gent and a fabulous teacher.

Thanks again for all your help.

No pics none of the fish big enough to justify :(

But it was a great time and will definitely be back to fish the area and fish with John who was excellent.
