Sparkey+1 and myself decided since we havent been out for awhile now to head to a localish mark in the hope it might produce something, so armed with everything we could think of we headed to the Beach behind the harbour notice several lads macky bashin castin every direction, and there was a nasty on shore wind, really gusty so we moved to Skerries beach, we were plagued with swimmers and dog walkers, the swimmers (lots of them) were swimming well within casting range, and we had bait nicked on us by several dogs with owners sayin "sorry about that" " I never seen anyone fishin here before" "are you fishin?" (I normally store my bait in a box to keep the dogs away) but this time i was retrieving to change over baits, and had a fillet of mackerel ready for wrapped bait

, we then moved around to the rocks only to be plagued by walkers

each with his/her own expert fishing advice on how to catch mackerel

when it was obvious we werent gunning for mackerel.
Then we had a couple of kids come down and despite me saying to the mother the steps are very slippy (green sea moss on the rocks) she proceeded to navigate her kids down the steps tied bacon to a washing line and pulled up several crabs

at this stage I gave up as it was too dangerous to cast with the amount of people there, and there was no point in continuing any further or lookin for other marks. So I put the rods away and watched to make sure the kids weren't going to fall in, Oh on the beach earlier the wind blew a buggy off the beach and into the sea, I ran (thinking there was a baby in the buggy

) retrieved the empty buggy to a thankful mum, so a busy day but not fishin wise as we drew a blank, but in a way Im glad we drew a blank as if we had a caught something it would have only drawn more of a crowd!! Next time I hit Skerries I think I'll wait for night time...in a gale force wind in the rain, snow, lighting storm, armageddon, when no one is around
