Kerry - Wrasee fishing

Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:00 pm

People:Me

Duration:2 Hours

Tide:Low water
Weather:Bright sunny strong southery wind

Bait:Shrimp

Rigs:Single Hook

Results:Sever Wrasse and a pollock

Report:
Dropped my shimp pot off a local pier baited with Mackeral hoping to get some shrimp for wrasse bait, Retuned following morning and pleased to find about 3 dozen plump shrimp.
Simple single 3/0 hook and 3oz weight and straight drop off the rock into water which was about 15 foot deep. started fishing at low water and first half hour was slow. got bored of holding rod so laid it on the rocks. suddenly rod was nearly pulled into the water by a wrasse that turned out to be my biggest fish of the day. this fish was easily specimen weight. but after taking a photo of him he was returned safe to fight another day..after this it was a fish a cast and even got a pollock for good measure. all fish returned alive
