Quick report on a blank, but after the last few days I had it comin!! :D went out to use up the remaining rag i had over from the weekend as they were beginning to turn :( headed for laytown High water was at 1pm and try as I might to get out before high tide I got delayed with non-fishing things :D none the less ended in Laytown at 1pm, nothin really happened for an hour, but as i was busy havin a bite to eat the 15' rod took on two big bends, racing over to make a strike (great with the busted toe!! tripped over again!) i missed it, but it was on the lug rig ;) then nothing and at 4pm the tide was gone...
Drove over to Gormanstown beach to see what i could find, and didnt bother getting the rods out... not that i didnt want to go fishin.. I didnt want to get run over!! some boyo was havin fun in his car racing up and down the beach doing 360's and 180's ( i wont be buying his car!!! and in the distance you could hear the Army shooting, now nothin against the Army as i know most of them are great shots BUT i have a few friends in the Army and I wasnt taken a chance that they werent on the shooting range!!
drove over to Skerries and when the tide goes out there its gone!! but manged to find a few traces and rigs among the seaweed, then onto Donabate, try as i might I could not get hooked into anything but crabs! so I guess I blanked but the upside is i used up the rag!

Huh, I think I may have seen ya :D!! Sorry to hear about the 1 mack :( theres been alot of boats around the poolbeg last week off the starboard marker, but one tried the lighthouse area where the shore lads are and I nearly hit it as he decided to come in way too close (he was lucky he didnt bottom out!!) and stop to do a bit of fishin right there, needless to say the shore lads werent to happy but it was taken in all good fun as they shouted and slagged each other off :D, Well, I'll keep tryin, I firmly believe theres gotta be something that side of the Liffey!!, I was down at Claremount beach the week before (not fishin just for a walk) and I noticed various different sea life from Shrimp/ Spratt/ Whitebait etc. seen mullet etc so theres gotta be flatties and other fish around that side of the coast just a matter of finding thier times/tides etc.. Just dont understand why is it so difficult on that side of the east coast, could it be the long sandy beaches that go out for miles during low tide, or the colder water or something else? hmmm... and still cant wrap my head around the Arklow high tides either 2hrs before Dublin?? that place is a mystery to me!

Creep, the odd bass is taken off claremont beach and there are some good sized flounder around there aswell.

The crabs can be rampant though.

Spinning or plugging off the sand bar at the mouth of rogerstown estuary might throw up the odd big bass from this month on low water.

Watch the sand out there, it can be extremely soft in places - particularly on the south side of the estuary mouth.

A foolish oversight on my part, thanks Shamoo. The sand on the bar can be on the soft side and care should be taken as the tide rises as it tends to suck your feet down.

No worries

Found it a bit scary the first time I started to sink to me knees  Flashbacks of Bear Grylls upto his neck in quick sand
