First must apologise for the sketchy locations, but there’s a very valid reason....half the times I didn’t know where I was myself!!!! Anyways headed out to Enerreilly about 10am ish looking forward to the rising tide, as one of the lads recommended I give it a shot, I met some lads from here (thanks lads for the sausage sambo, nice one!) and hooked into a couple of small plaice, a nice flounder, and 4 weavers!! THEN the boyos from East Coast Raiders turned up in their droves!!!, I learnt a valuable lesson from Roger the Dodger about competition fishing,...whilst others are busy sorting out rods, reels, tackle, sort out the tent and then your wardrobe!! I noticed him neatly hanging his jacket!!! A big shout out to you lads a pleasure meeting you all! Then Aby recommended I try a spot further down which he kindly marked on my map about a 20min drive (spot on Aby!!) At 6pm I headed for this "new" mark upon where I met FishFace, and Eyes Reilly and some more of the gang!!! Again an absolute pleasure meeting you lads!! Anyways hooked into a couple of small Plaice, and a flounder, and 4 weavers, just as I was about to go around 10pm I hooked into a nice doggy, I then left shortly afterwards after saying my goodbyes. Oh Remember I said I'd explain the duration??? I was going to go home around 4ish but then I kept meeting lads from East Coast Raiders and one fishing spot lead to another and the Mrs gave me the thumbs up to keep going ....Happy Days!!!..... Sunday morning woke up and the kids wanted to go fishing?!??!? (I've a 6yrs old, 4yrs, 2yrs and 1yrs) Was I still dreaming after having such a great day the following day??? Then the whole family was game for going out making a day of it!! YES It was on!!! So quickly looked around for a place the sold bait on a Sunday found one!!! THANK YOU DAVE!!! and headed for Arklow!! Met up with a couple of more anglers with kids and what a time we had, the kids played in the sand and sea ALL DAY!! and after rigging up the tent (for the baby and the mrs, as the weather didn’t look that great) and got up the gear, got stuck into a bit of fishin first cast in hooked up with small plaice, one flounder, then the second rod hooked into a double shot of slightly bigger plaice, and Gurnards and that’s how it went most of the day with a rising tide, then the distance rod picked up a knock, hmmm something bigger on this, Yep after a fine scrap, a 16" Thornback Ray decided to show himself and he made a good account of himself (having the family there made the day even better!!) and the last of the day was a smoothhound pup, the smallest I've caught! My 2yr old was thrilled to hold her first ever Smoothhound and released it

Oh and we started to go home around 8pm, I was barefoot and was chasing my half packed wind blown tent down the beach when I stubbed my toe, and me thinks I broke it!

But was it worth it??? OH YES!! In fact…I’m hittin the shores tomorrow evening again but who knows where?? I don’t!

Oh the shot of the rods?? Heaven!.... Again before i close, I just want to say what a great time I had meeting you all!!
