, first nite checked out the local inlet and tried out a few lures for any fish hanging around, after a few casts i started geting pollock every second cast

new species for the year, packed up and headed home. had intended to go fishn keel beach for turbot on monday but on arrival the surf was cracking, so boards out and surfing it was

tuesday was a family day around the island with the usual shoping and then to a pier near the house where i was staying but no luck no takes tide dropping and no sandeels swiming about, wed was a disaster with 40-50mile an hr ofshore winds and driving rain so lazy day on the cards, thursday morning headed back to keel for turbot with surf and wind better h

pes were high but after 5 mins with bait in the water traces were washed ashore with 5lb of weed, moved up and down the beach with no good results so packed up and went for the surfboards again, friday morning Determined dan text me to say he was up for a rock session so to a few deep water rock marks we headed, i was given a dead cert pollock lure for deep water and with conditions good i lashed it out with no success

, went back to my trusty hart lures and bang fish on and between us we landed a couple of nice pollock, so the only thing about the dead cert lure is that its not

sat morning i took the kids crab fishing at the pier and had them lots of crabs and another new species a goby I think if anyone would like to confirm for me it would be great. a fun holiday had by all with plenty of pollock on offer and some new species great to catch up with a member from the site and hope to go back and get my turbot
