Report:went one of my favorites marks in donegal weather was just perfect, start with 2 bottom rods baited with macs and rags while tide was out, first half an hour was slow and later first doggy bend a rod and then next and few more after that, when tide riched half way i thought to try some lure fishing managed few pollacks, just around a pound nothing impresive
while spinning i'v notise that one of my baited rods was almost horizontly standing on the tripod lucky that i was not to far away, strike and first ray of this year flipping in my hand, not a hudge but still lovely one, i took a picture releesed it free from the hook and of course let her go continue her life in ocean
just couldint realise pollacks behavior as weather is right , they fed well i mean packs of sand eels scooling along the shore and polack with mackerel gordge them selfs even jumping out of the water, but they never did it on lures, even i'v try all my lures i had only few of many pollacks been cought, well imitation could be the issue, but i also had frozen eels, but still not that good, i could even see them hiding under kelps and attacing eels from there, not shore weather i did something wrong or they just ignore lures couse plenty of naural prey around
well i can still call it nice session, great warm sunny weather, few fishes, what more i could ask for?

Good work Grady, I thought your ray was a small blonde, I aint too well up on the rays, your ballan wrasse pic is very nice. Perfect fish.

Sounds interesting with the sandeel and the pollack hunting them. Good summertime stuff.

Spots go right out to the edge of the wing on a blonde ray.

Oh and your ray is a spotted ray.

WOW even better hadn't cought one before, one more spesie is added in my list and that's cool

Cheers Shambo, a blonde is the only type Ive ever caught and the count of that species is 1.

nice fish grady & new ray species for the list well done. I often seen pollock not take lures even though theres plenty of sprat or sandells about, there stuffed with food & just picking off the odd one but ther will come a burst on them again some evening soon & they will devour the lures
