From the start everything went wrong!

I'm new to Mullet Fly Fishing with only one success prior to this attempt.
I put the fly everywhere but in a fish for 1 hr solid! I hooked grass in a high bank behind me, a low wire fence, and often landed in clumps of floating weed.

The rising tide was washing all sorts of "goodies" out of rotting seaweed and the mullet were queueing up with mouths open on the surface! At one stage I discovered that the reason my casting sounded like a Lion Tamers whip was because my fly was missing! How long I had been flogging the water with no fly I'm not sure!

The sight of all those hungry mullet kept me going so I persevered!

I went through every fly in my fly box until one gave me two missed takes!
Finally a solid take and a Mullet was on!

What a a scrap on a light rod! Finally I landed a Mullet of 3 lbs, 13 ozs, not a big one but a great scrapper!

It made up for all the mucking!
