Fair play on the hounds ;)
Myself and my mate fished the south beach last night from about 8.30-11.30,
Loads of dogs around and a few pup hounds and dabs, there was a group of people camping with their kids behind us. Every time we caught something they were over for a look. Was grand when there was one or two, but then there were about 7 of them walking all over the bait & traces, thankfully their dads told them to leave us alone... I wasn't there for babysitting

nice bass well done but why NOT name the beach you cought it ON .
YET you travel to wicklow and are very happy to tell everybody where you caught
your smoothounds . if this was a local dublin mark would you be so quick to name it

When Commercial Fishermen net Smoothounds then i will become a little more reserved on what beach i name

Smoothounds are great sport to fish for and i have no problem sharing any help i can for other anglers

Bass are a Completely different matter they have a price on there head and i will be very secretive when it comes to them

are you trying to say the hundreds of boxes of smooth hounds that are landed on the wicklow/arklow/wexford/dublin quays dont have a price :? your wrong.

Is there a commercial fishery for Smoothies? Any chance of a link with details

What i meant is that Bass are major targets so its surely understandable that people would be a little cagey with info

I did not name the beach just because it wasnt in Dublin If i had caught the Smoothies in Dublin i would have named and same again if i had caught the Bass in wicklow i would have kept the location under wraps

I may be wrong but i really never thought Smoothies were that much of a target

not much of a target :?: i live for when the time comes to catch them as do loads of fellow anglers, but now i will have to form a queue, thanks

:

look at the bait boxes that the whelk boats are supplied with probably worth around 8 euro a box. you will see hounds huss lsd's and brown crab carcases with claws removed :(

the link is on the earlier above post i made.
