Report:promised the nephew i would take him fishing and seeing it was a bank holiday and i was off the day after, i said we could go after the wife finished work at 8pm. So gear packed and off we went, got set up at the mark by 9.30pm and cast in, not much happened until the bro in law and his wee lad showed up for an hour, they got a few mackerel on the float and feathers, so with fresh bait we baited up and launched out. It wasnt long until the nephew was getting bite and in came his first doggie and the first doggie of the night. While baiting up his rig for him i noticed my rod give a tap and a few second later pull right over, a good scrap and a nice 8lb thronie was on the deck, a pb for me(biggest before that was 5.5lb). The bro in law and son left and we settled down to a few more fish, just doggies, so i rigged up a sandeel, mackerel combo and lauched it out a fair bit, by the time i had rebaited and recast my rig the nephew was fighting a ray, not big but 3.5lb not bad for his fist ever ray. We missed a few bites and had doggies drop off at the edge of the pier where they just held the bait in thier mouths. I managed another ray at 8lb, two in the one night i was well pleased, another few dogs later we had ran out of bait so we went home, happy for pbs all round. the nephew did manage to conect with a large fish and from the bite and the way it held the bottom before kiteing off and coming off the hook i guessed it was another big ray.
a few photos, not great they were on a camera phone, waiting on ones from the bro in laws camera, they are nice
