headed out to conamara for a few hours last night, first cast was straight into fish,flounders about 38cm, in close, put the other rod out far with a pulley rig for a ray but ha a nice brill took the bait happy days, dinner.... baited up again and sent it far out this time a ray around 5 pound sorry but no scales with me... mean while the other was doing a dance every cast with flounder on every cast. finished up with 2 ray , pleanty of flounder 1 doggie and a small turbot.......

thanks for that al i was not sure myself so i looked it up on the net, it said the difference between a brill is ,on the under side of the belly it is a whiteish red colour. so i thought it was a brill , but your right it had lumps on the top side,, thanks for letting me know.....

no probs man. were you up on that high grassy mark we saw you at last year looking down into the start of the estuary or on the beach?. we have to get a session in at that spot in august when we come over again

nice one alan,,,,bar the lumps of a turbot but if you turn the two ,,the turbot is far more white,er and the brill is less with kinda bluey marks up near the head and also the brill is not a round,,its between a flounder and turbot shape etc,,,lovely fish thou,,,seen a 4lber the other week,,,congrats

Couple of stunning fish right there. Only ever had small ones and would be extremely happy to catch even one like that in a lifetime to be honest. Great shots too.

Just that the top one has had the colours changed!

ERRRM............. YES steve the photos are the same fish just different angles ,was not sure weather they where turbot or brill.....

I'm not the one posting pictures of turbot and changing one and calling it a brill!!
