[b]People: Just me
[b]Duration:7am to 3 pm
[b]Tide:High tide at noon
[b]Weather:South east breeze - hazy sunshine
[b]Bait:Rag, Mackerel, squid
[b]Rigs: simple
[b]Results:5 bass, 2 mackerel and a doggie
[b]Report: Nice days fishing in Newcastle - lovely weather.
Second cast caught a doggie on rag and mackerel strip.
Caught a small bass (1lb) on rag about 9.30am - I was surprised as I
hadn't heard of bass being caught here. Nothing else for the morning,
just a few mackerel on a spinning rod. Packed up at 1 pm, put the gear in the car and went back to the beach with the spinning rod. Started walking southwards along the beach, casting as I went - 4 small bass in the next 90 minutes - biggest 1.5lb - all caught on a red flying C (thanks for the tip Art) - Good fun on light tackle.
Put the bass and doggie back, kept a few mackerel for supper.
Regards
Aidan
