Report: Had the week off so decided it was time to hit the shore for some fishing Donegal style. After two weeks of fishing cold turkey I was chomping at the bit!

25th June-Culdaff pier and local rock mark.

Hadn't tried any rock marks at all this year yet so was looking forward to doing a bit of rock hopping accompanied by my girlfriend Lisa. Packed light and headed for Culdaff pier to try and pick up some mack and pollock on the rocks at the back of the wall. Feathering and spinning for about 1.5 hours produced nothing so decided to hit a local rock mark that has always done the business in the past. After the 20 minute hike down and much cajoling of nervous girlfriend (she made it down though fair play to her!) finally got a spinner cast out. Was expecting some action but was not to be so switched to a jelly-worm to see if a slower retrieve could tempt a few pollock but all it tempted was a spider crab which got a reaction from Lisa as I swung it up and towards her   Called it quits after about an hour as the pollock and coalies I had expected were playing hard to get :(

27th June- Another rock mark.

My mate Eoin was up for a few days visiting so asked him if he fancied trying his hand at a bit of spinning. Met Ciaran at the mark and made the hike down (all the decent marks about here include a free hike down). First cast produced a lively two pound pollock so we all settled in for a few hours of sport. Not to be sadly, not a nibble for next three hours, ground was very rough as well and a baptism of fire for Eoin as it was areal challenge just to get the lure back in. Where are all the pollock??!

29th June- Leenan beach

Hit Leenan beach for a short session in the morning, fished an hour before LW and 1.5 hours after. Stupidly forgot my shockleader so could only really scratch about in the surf for flatties. Only a single flounder to 21 cm landed :(

I'd have to say the fishing was quite dissappointing but there's no guarantees I suppose. Can't figure out where all the pollock are in north Inishowen as was hoping to get into a few decent fish
