Report: We decided to try a rock mark in dalkey hoping to get some new species wrasse and pollack. We arrived at 6.30 and caugh the sun as it was rising and have to say it look fantastic. Anyway we found a nice spot with enough room for us all to fit. magpie01 was trying a float for the first time but didnt have the weight and float balanced but two lads who arrived shortly after us sorted him out with a loan of a full float rig.
Myself and JacktheLad started off with rotten bottom rigs but we were getting caught with every cast so after I lost lost 4 weights I switched to a float. JacktheLad kept up fishing from the bottom and was getting plenty of bites but didnt manage to hook any. Myself and Magpie01 wern't having any luck at all and it was looking like a blank for all of us when my float disappeared ! I reeled it in and had a pollack. It wasnt the biggest but i was delighted to have a new species (especially happy as it was one i targeted) and it saved the blank.
Could have been better results but either way its a great way to spend a saturday morning.
