People:Youghal Bass Club, Duggan Family Cup, ~15 Anglers

Duration:8pm to midnight

Tide:3.2 dropping, 1am Full tide

Weather: South Westerly, medium

Bait:Everything, Lug, crab, sandeel, mackeral & Razor

Rigs:Everything,

Results:Lots of fish, Winner 8 coddling, Second, Doggie, Flounder, Thornback & Coddling, Third, 5 Coddling. Other fish caught were coalies, mackeral, and a weever fish.

Coddling were generally around 25-35cm, and caught over the 4 hrs. The doggies and ray were caught early, while the founder were caught late on very very close in (yards!) Overall a great night, a funny beach you never know what it will throw up, can blank as easy as having a night like last night.

were the coddling any size?
which end of the beach?
got 2 bass where stream flows inat the eastern side of beach
seen 5/6 sea trout in the pool by the car park can u catch them in the sea round there?????

No not really all just around 1 to 1.5lb. Lots of coddling been caught at Ballycreannan and Ballywilling, but again of similiar size. Great fish been caught on the boats just off shore. However a trawler was operting about 2 miles out from us on Sunday night and if they keep at it our hopes of a great coddling season this winter will disappear. If the coddling don't rattle your cage at that size, plenty of dogs are ray are showing so its well worth a visit.
