Malahide estuary 30th May ... crabs?

Weather: A bit windy but not too cold

Bait: rag, muscle and bread

Report:
Set out to hit the estuary in Malahide and got there at a nice time to catch the tide coming in. Unfortunately the current was too strong and we got plagued with weed and drew a blank. We thought we saw a few Mullet jumping but 1 seems way too large so we presume they were Bass but were too far away to be sure.

After the blank at the estuary we moved down to the rocks just passed the beach but drew a blank there too. The thing was that there were 5 others out fishing there but we didn't see anyone catch anything and even with a light rod I saw and felt no bites but the hooks were stripped bare each time. Are there a lot of crabs around the area?

We also heard from a local that the spot on the map below can be accessed through a hole in a fence now if you access it from the bissets strand side. He said the water is very deep there and it's never fished because it wasn't accessible before the bridge was repaired. According to him the Mullet go down that direction a lot and it should be a good spot for Congers and flatties because there's a spawning ground around there. Does anyone know the spot?

fishing is really poor at the moment around there.
The fishes jumping in the estuary were probably sea trouts .
And for the crabs, they can really be a nightmare here
Heard about this spot, but never fished there myself.

I asked the guy in the train station about that spot,he told me a gang of Chinese lads were fishing there and got arrested ,the viaduct and line are railway property so u wud be done for trespassing and the only other wat in is through the boat yard again legal issues,anyway if ur not supposed to be there the first train wud spot ye,can anyone clarify dis issue I wuddnt mind givin the place a go myself

them lads you where next to blanked i hear,if you see them again just pack up they couldnt find a fish in an aquarium
