Report:
Annual trip to Kerry. Tides were ideal and wind from the west...! Couldnt go wrong.
We fished a very rough mark on Thursday night after digging lug for an hour or so. First cast I was into a bass. It went quiet then as they had moved in behind us so we moved back to the shore and found them again. Ended with with 13 bass between 3 of us. Not big, largest 4Ib I would say right down to 1Ib'ers. Great sport though..!
Im not going to give the mark but for anyone new to bass fishing we fished a shallow mark, plenty of rocks and weed and lobbed large lug baits out into the few random sand patches.

Spent most of the rest of Saturday with lures, not very successful. Lots of follows and half hearted strikes but no takes.
Moved back to the rough mark Sat night and caught 6 more bass in a short period of time before calling it a night.

Overall a great weekend. Our top spot again has never let us down. Never seen anyone else fish it either. Magic..! :-)
Will post some pics later on

Have one pic handy of us having a pint at the pier at Brandon. Tried plugging a few marks close by but nothing. Still, the guinness was good..! :-)

I have since had a chat with Eoghan and can confirm he was deep water fishing aound Brandon Head on the Sunday. All bass angling stopped on Saturday night. The deep water fishing was crap, which is why it never made the report

Sorry all, should have clarified that. Last bass session was Sat night before the ban. Sunday was off Brandon head, didnt fish long as large swell and no fish. Dangerous spot and not one I would reccomend in a swell. Moved to a deep water mark just back from that, Tra Bawn, and fished a large deep inlet to the far right of the beach, again no fish but better shelter. Ended up at pub as you can see. Monday morning was the return to Dublin with no fishing.

Great catch Eoghan, heading to dingle with doggy dave the first week in september. I hope we do as well as you. We have the bob moss book as a guide where to fish. I will certainly catch a few of those guiness.

Paradise it is mate...! We didnt catch anything that day but who cares, we were looking for an excuse to knock the fishing on the head and lower a few pints...! "pollock not feeding, oh well, pints anyone?" :-)
Pics arent very exciting but these are 3 of the bass from Thur night. No clonkers but regular action over the session, cant ask for more..!

I cant remember the name of them, will check em when home later on. They are 5/0's anyway, not quite circle hooks but they are brilliant. Fishing side by side with the other two lads I had 7 bass on Thur to their 3 each. Call it luck but I really think these hooks connect with more fish than average hooks. I also landed a flounder on the same night. Think they might be Berkly hooks but i could be way off.

The pint rodge - lil photoshop there to keep the pint and the boats in colour and the rest in black n white.
Camera was a nikon D90 with standard kit lens (Since I know you are into your photography) :-)
Got some good pics of the lads diving off the pier with my 70/300 vr lens, will post it later.

If you are ever in Murphy's (The pub at the pier), look out for this pic. When I took it Mary asked me to print it out for her. Its up on the wall at the bar. :-)

Great report and photos Eoghan, I'll be heading down there myself at the end of July and I'm already counting down the days, it really is a beautiful spot and you can't beat a pint in Murphys.
